Why Choose St. John's
“School climate is a key ingredient in academic success” (Blum, 2007)
St. John’s Lutheran School strives to establish a school climate that centers on student success. All that we put into practice here is to benefit the students and families that choose to make St. John’s Lutheran School part of their child’s educational experience. As with any institution, there will be areas of strength and areas of challenge. We would be remiss if we said otherwise. Yet, in light of this, you can be assured that the SJLS staff cares for your child and they care for you. St. John’s Lutheran School is accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the National Lutheran Schools Association (NLSA).
We continue to develop our programs as we move through the action plan phase of the accreditation process. Our data shows that SJLS students perform well in school on a consistent basis. In fact, over 3/4 of SJLS students in grades 3-8 hold a GPA of 80% or higher. We believe that these statistics speak to the fact that learners and educators at St. John’s Lutheran School are doing a very good job.
Testimonials
“I just love everything about St. John's from the small class sizes to the curriculum that is used in the classroom. I have had wonderful experiences with all the teachers. I feel confident that my children are getting the best Christian based education available."
- Parent of currently enrolled 2nd & 6th grade students
“The science and math programs are very strong. My child started behind due to coming from a public school setting, but is now flourishing. SJLS has built her confidence, something that will continue to grow.”
-Parent of currently enrolled 7th grade student
“I have seen a tremendous improvement in my son's self-confidence since beginning at St. John's. His ability and willingness to express himself has improved in the supportive environment. Thank you.”
-Parent of currently enrolled 3rd grade student
“I feel like SJLS is a family, not just a school. My daughter feels very comfortable there and I wouldn't want her attending any other school.”
-Parent of currently enrolled pre-K student
“I visited about five different schools before choosing St. John's for my daughter. I wanted the best for her, and I wanted to feel peace in my decision. Though, I knew the moment I walked through their front doors that St. John's was it. Out of all the schools, St. John's made me feel like family the first day. I felt my daughter was in the best of care spiritually, emotionally and physically. I love this school and look forward to seeing St. John's grow.”
-Parent of currently enrolled preschool student
“St. John's preschool has provided my 3 boys amazing preschool experiences. I have noticed a major difference in their academics, social skills, manners, spirituality, and how they treat one another. I highly recommend it to anyone with a little one.”
-Parent of currently enrolled preschool and pre-K student
“A positive school environment enhances motivation, increases educational aspirations and improves attendance and retention.” (Blum, 2007) School will have an impact on your child. It will affect their Point of View. That’s a fact. SJLS provides an academic program of excellence, integrating Bible teachings throughout the physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and social development of our students. St. John’s Lutheran School expects to impact students in a way that few other schools do ... with a Jesus Point of View.
And we’re proud of that.
