IGNITE [6th - 8th grade]
Details
Attend weekly programs on Wednesday nights for 1 school year. Time Commitment Can vary but expect 2 hours per week.
Location
All St. John's Student Ministries programs meet in the Ministry House. Outside events and special nights take place at various locations.

Qualifications/Skills
In order to help students discover and live the best kind of life that God made them to live, an Student Leader will LIVE, SHOW UP, RELATE and SHEPHERD.
Live
A Student Leader lives the best kind of life by actively pursuing:
- truth through the study of the Bible
- that everyone can be made new through Christ
- wholeness: mind, body, soul, emotions and experiences all offered together to God
- community: a life that was never meant to be lived alone
- conduct himself/herself in a worthy manner when over the opposite sex in all situations
- set a Godly example inside and outside the Student Ministry
- the belief that hope is real and tomorrow can be better
Show up
A Student Leader commits to show up by:
- attending weekly programs
- leader meetings/trainings
- attending events
- regular communication with staff and IGNITE Leaders
Relate
A Student Leader encourages community among and builds relationships with other students int eh Student Ministries. They commit to pray for and gets to know the students
in the in order that they can show Gods love God, each other and
the world.
Shepherd
A Student Leader is a shepherd where he/she commits to:
- inspire students to discover who God made them to be and who He's called them to be in the world
- care for them along the way
- provides support, encouragement and upholds values set by the Student Ministry, staff and Adult Volunteers
- helps students see places to serve
